Use one consistent cost basis
Enter amounts in one currency and use a consistent tax basis. Product cost, freight, fulfilment and other costs are per unit. Enter the referral percentage separately so it is not counted twice. Use your own fee statement or a verified official estimate; no current FBA fee schedule is built into this tool.
Profit, margin and ROI
Profit equals price × (1 − referral rate) − non-ad costs − advertising cost. Margin divides that profit by price. ROI divides profit by the entered product, freight, fulfilment and other non-ad costs, so it is a different measure. A zero investment basis makes ROI unavailable, not zero.
Worked example
A price of 30, a referral rate of 15%, non-ad costs of 16.50 and advertising cost of 3 produce profit of 6 and margin of 20%. ROI on the 16.50 cost basis is 36.36%. Real returns, taxes and inventory losses must be included in your own cost assumptions.
